We take inspiration from the old world and use it to brew beers in the new world using local ingredients.

North End was established in 2013. A brewer with a background in food teamed up with a pair of restaurateurs to create a local brewery that would help to make Waikanae better. After 2 years of brewing our beer at other local breweries we commissioned our own brewery in 2015 . Since then we have made a host of beers in our little corner of Waikanae.

We’re all about traditional European brewing with a natural twist, foraged locally. Our beers connect you to Waikanae and the Kāpiti Coast’s wild bounty and to the wisdom of the ages. It’s all a bit mad. But good mad. Which we’re proud of and North End fans have come to know and cherish the difference it makes.

Next time you’re on the coast, stop by the brewery and checkout what wild brews we’re conjuring up. Or better yet, sit down and enjoy a cold pint and a delicious burger in our adjoining brew pub – Salt & Wood BBQ.
